Initially responsible for the Operation and Security of the QualysGuard service,
since 2006 heading both Operations and Engineering departments. Implemented the
QualysGuard Software-as-a-Service (SAAS) application on a set of Linux based
application and databases servers and several thousand appliances
installed at customer locations. Built a team of System Administrators, Security
Engineers, Database Administrators and Build Engineers. Improved uptime
from 99.5% to 99.95%. Scaled the service's website through strong
growth periods. Introduced redundant, robust firewalls and load
balancers. Implemented performance and availability monitoring.
Migrated QualysGuard servers into a secure, private suite datacenter.
Implemented strong access control using RSA SecurID on all production
servers. Conducted SAS70 audits on Qualys Operations. Negotiated national and international
datacenter deals.

Responsible for the BeMusic/myplay website and music
streaming services with over 100 Sun servers and 40 Terabytes of EMC
storage. Managed a budget of 4.7 Million dollars. Designed new network
infrastructure. Introduced a launch plan for site changes, a ticketing
system, uptime monitoring/reporting and a documentation system. Managed
projects for stabilization of the Oracle databases, restructured backup
policies and implemented storage monitoring for 40 TB of NFS based
storage. Contact person for due diligence regarding Network Operations
during the Bertelsmann acquisition. Maintained Vendor relations with
Sun, EMC, Cisco, Veritas and AboveNet. Hands-on administration of
internet and corporate computing infrastructure, Microsoft Windows 2000
file servers, Exchange mail server, Checkpoint Firewall, Nortel phone
switch and wireless network.
